27th March 2026
Welcome to QEII Newsround, my name is Millie
And I’m Niki
Have you been resilient this week, like our Yoimoji Bucko the resilient rabbit?
Here are this week’s signs of the week.
Beachcombers have been enjoying diving into their new topic for this half term, Splash! They have been engaging in lots of outside activities such as mark making on different surfaces with big paintbrushes and fishing for numbers and Numicon shapes with nets and sieves in a water tray. They have also enjoyed bathing baby dolls with sponges and bubble bath and splashing in the water themselves! This week they have enjoyed listening to stories to support their learning about bath times and what water does and can be used for.
Globetrotters loved their last Topic ‘Darwin’s Delights’, we explored the life, work and expeditions of Charles Darwin. They enjoyed trips out to Horsham Park, where they studied and sketched daffodils and Horsham Museum where they looked at the amazing fossil collection.
Globetrotters have got to know their Life Skills Kitchen very well and have made some delicious treats this half term, like the chocolate brownies that everyone loved at the Art Exhibition.
They competed at the amazing Dance Live! in Portsmouth this year and won ‘Peoples Choice Award’ and the ‘LED Screen Award’, we had the best time once again.
They held their first Prom at the new College site and with the help of the charity ‘Prom Dream’s’ all looked amazing. It was a great ‘Night at the Movies’.
Finally, some students from Globetrotters have just completed their Travel Training, we caught a bus into Horsham Town and also took the train to Crawley and stopped in for a McDonald’s ice cream….YUM!
Our Kindness Ambassadors decided they wanted to make soft toys for every class to have. They have been very busy in their sessions sewing the toys together!
This week’s Taskmaster Club had to sort out the age old question “How long is a piece of string?” Let’s see what they worked out…
See you next time, bye!
