Newsletter & Newsround 17th April
17th April 2026
Welcome to QEII Newsround, my name is Jamie
And I’m Jayden
Have you been patient this week, like our Yoimoji Zigzag the patient goat?
Here are this week’s signs of the week.
Sailor’s Class have had such a lovely start to the Summer term. They have started our topic Splash! They have been exploring items that sink and float. The children are very happy that the sun has been shining. They have been getting wet and drying off! They have created a classroom sea picture to hang outside and are painting it together. We love when the donkeys come to visit too.
Pathfinders have begun the Topic 'Tomorrow's World' this term. So far this has included building a robot from junk materials, predicting the outcome of a short video with a message about a robot and discussing what the future may hold. They have also tried wearable tech in the form of the VR headsets. They are also working towards planning a healthy snack to make during their cooking sessions later in the term, building on the skills and recipes they have already tried. The puff pastry cheesy twists were a hit!
Congratulations to April and Miles who both won prizes in the Bud and Flower Easter Egg decorating competition.
We would like to say a big thank you to the Horsham Darts League, who have supported our school once again this year, raising over £1300 for us. Thank you to the H&W League, the Horsham Fives and Southwater Summer League, with thanks also to Southwater Sports Club who sponsor the league.
It was a very sporty Taskmaster Club this week, with the teams competing to win the most medals in a Ball-ympics event!
See you next time, bye!
