The Scented Garden

Divers students have had a fun half term with the topic "Scented Garden". We've had Tough Tray flower making where we practiced our fine motor skills with giant tweezers and creating carnival style flowers and bees for the main school reception display for everyone to enjoy.
The scented flower printing was a great sensory experience and the prints have been cut into flower shapes to help our display look colourful.

Noah's Ark Book - NATRE Competition Winner

Back in July 2021, Cherries class entered the NATRE "Spirited Arts" competition. The students retold the story of Noah's Ark by posing for special photos and creating artwork, which was then all bound together into a book and sent in for the competition.
We were delighted to learn in December that we had been chosen as a winner, out of almost 50,000 entries! Here is "Noah" himself with the book and one of the winners' certificates, and you can also see a video of Jamie from Pioneers class kindly reading the story out for everyone to enjoy.
You can find out more about the competition by clicking here.

"Stained Glass" Butterflies

As part of our Wriggle and Crawl topic we have been learning about a variety of minibeasts. During our Art lesson this week we created 'stained glass butterflies' using multi media and a laminator to give the desired glass effect. The children enjoyed shredding a range of multi colored tissue paper and positioning the pieces in a laminating pouch to create their beautiful butterfly wings. Our butterflies look beautiful when the sun shines through the window and the children are very proud of their work!

Flying Rockets

This term's topic is all about space, so the class has been busy creating our "Flying Rockets." Lots of fun was to be had.
