QEII Connections

QE2 Connections is an informal parents group, led by Steph Smith, specialist school nurse and Emma Risby-Ward, Head of Primary. This was organised to enable our parents to get together to meet and support each other, especially after Covid prevented parents and children from getting together or attending other groups /activities..

The group is for any of our Early Years families, (Beachcombers and Sailors) and our Primary families, (Divers, Balloonists, Pilots and Astronauts). We discuss different topics and endeavour to help parents, by sharing experiences and strategies that may work or signposting to other services. We have discussed topics such as eating, toileting and sleeping. We also invite other professionals to come in to speak about different topics of interest. QE2 Connections runs once or twice a half term. We are always open to suggestions for discussion topics and if it is not our area of expertise will find someone who will come in and lead a session.

The sessions are held in the studio from 12-1pm on Tuesdays.

The dates and topics of the Spring Term meetings are:
Tuesday 8th March: Positive parenting – Steph and Emma
Tuesday 22nd March: Emotional wellbeing & mental health – Penny Knopp, Community Mental Health Liaison Nurse
