Pilots Art

Michelle Dufaur Workshop

Astronauts & Pilots classes came together for a two day workshop with Michelle Dufaur from Same Sky.
Michelle has visited us a few times and all the students gain many skills in working with willow and tissue paper, where we create life size projects.
Primary topic this term has been "Scented Garden". Each student engaged on each process from taping the willow together and creating shape to covering the form using wet tissue paper.
As you can see, the final project looks absolutely amazing. Hopefully you will see the final project in our school reception area in the near future.

Claude Monet "Water Lilies"

We looked at the "Water Lilies" paintings by French artist Claude Monet and re-created our own versions using tissue paper. This tied in with our topic for the Spring Term 2022 of "The Scented Garden."

Noah's Ark Book - NATRE Competition Winner

Back in July 2021, Cherries class entered the NATRE "Spirited Arts" competition. The students retold the story of Noah's Ark by posing for special photos and creating artwork, which was then all bound together into a book and sent in for the competition.
We were delighted to learn in December that we had been chosen as a winner, out of almost 50,000 entries! Here is "Noah" himself with the book and one of the winners' certificates, and you can also see a video of Jamie from Pioneers class kindly reading the story out for everyone to enjoy.
You can find out more about the competition by clicking here.

Flying Rockets & Astronauts

This term's topic is all about space, so the class has been busy creating our "Flying Rockets and Astronauts." Lots of fun was to be had.
