Astronauts Art

Michelle Dufaur Workshop

Astronauts & Pilots classes came together for a two day workshop with Michelle Dufaur from Same Sky.
Michelle has visited us a few times and all the students gain many skills in working with willow and tissue paper, where we create life size projects.
Primary topic this term has been "Scented Garden". Each student engaged on each process from taping the willow together and creating shape to covering the form using wet tissue paper.
As you can see, the final project looks absolutely amazing. Hopefully you will see the final project in our school reception area in the near future.

Claude Monet "Water Lilies"

We looked at the "Water Lilies" paintings by French artist Claude Monet and re-created our own versions using tissue paper. This tied in with our topic for the Spring Term 2022 of "The Scented Garden."

Van Gogh "Starry Night"

We have been looking at works of art by Vincent Van Gogh since the beginning of term so, with this in mind, we have been busy creating our own "Starry Night" puzzle style. Each student was given a "piece of the puzzle" and they coloured/decorated their piece. They then connected it all together to make an amazing collaged "Elms Starry Night."
