Post 19 - Collyer's

The College of Richard Collyer offers a Post 19-25 Employability course, for students who are studying at Entry Level 1 and above, after they have left school at 19. This is a two year course catering for up to 12 young people who are aged between 19-25 with an EHCP. Students study Employability Skills, Independence Skills, Maths and English, as well as taking part in various Sport options, Art, Photography and Food Technology.

Study at Collyer’s takes place on a Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Students are encouraged to be as independent as possible while being supported by staff when needed, and must be capable of following the college’s code of conduct. Students are able to integrate into life at Collyer’s as much as possible, including having lunch in the college canteen and buying their food from the canteen. We use a buddy system at Collyer’s, where our lessons are open to other Collyer’s students supporting ours, utilizing their particular interests or through their own courses of study.

The course at Collyer's gives students a supported and secure transition from school life to studying at larger college campuses or accessing employment opportunities.

If you are interested in hearing more about the course, or would like to arrange a visit, please contact Emily Jones (Course Leader), elj@collyers.ac.uk, who will be able to provide you with additional information and advise you on whether we are able to meet the needs of your young person.
